It started because of a storm.
Two days of gray skies and she needed heat. Saturated oranges, reds, magentas — vivid by necessity. But the paint had its own ideas. The composition fell apart. I worked crackle paste over some of the areas and started again, this time without trying to control it.
That was the right decision.
Layer after layer, the colors fought their way back through — orange and red and gold refusing to be buried, black lines riding the surface like they own it. Look at the lower right. Ash. The only evidence that something this alive also burns things down.
Uncontrollable is for the individual who knows what it feels like to stop managing something and just let it be what it is. The energy that doesn't ask permission. The heat that shows up when the world outside goes gray and cold. The part of you that was never going to follow the plan anyway.
Some things can't be contained. That's not a problem. That's the point.
Sometimes you just need to be the rebel. To not care what others think. To follow your own rules and your own voice. Easier said than done. But once you let go and stop managing, start listening to your heart and not your fear- magic happens. It did with this painting. I dare you. Enjoy!
