Finding Its Way- Original Abstract Mixed Media Painting | Belonging Series

This painting didn't cooperate.

It started with stencils. Then fluid acrylics and spray paint. Then oil sticks — and once you move to oil, there's no going back. It fought every decision. Pushed back on every layer. Demanded patience she wasn't sure she had.

And then it found its road.

Look at the lower center — a path emerging through the heat of orange and gold, white glimpses breaking through on either side. Past or future, you decide. The gray and purple at the edges aren't shadow — they're everything that had to happen before the road appeared.

Finding Its Way is for the individual who has been in the middle of something that refused to resolve on your timeline. Who kept going anyway. Who knows by now that the things worth having usually fight back a little — and that the road has a way of appearing exactly when you stop forcing it.

Some things know where they're going before you do.

I know you have experienced this. Finding your way through a difficult journey. You think you have taken the right path, to only find yourself back where you started but maybe a couple of feet further  That’s what this painting was for me. And maybe, if I’m honest, I was having one of those weeks myself.  I find that if I can keep exploring, listening and just being in the moment, I usually find the next step. Hope you enjoy!
