This one started in a good mood and stayed there.
Teal spray paint laid down first — the color I couldn't stop reaching for. Then magenta and plum built up in washes, layer over layer, while acrylic ink pooled at every edge and dried into dark, decisive lines that drew their own borders. Cream breathes through the gaps. The whole surface reads like blooms caught mid-open.
There's a voice that shows up in the middle of making something. Not enough yet. More layers. Keep going. Sometimes it's right. This time it wasn't. The painting was already what it was going to be, and adding more would have buried the thing that made it work.
Enough is for the woman who has learned the difference between unfinished and simply done. Who has stopped editing herself to satisfy the chorus. Who knows that showing up as exactly who she is — no extra layers required — was always the whole point.
Original, one-of-a-kind. When it finds its collector, that's it.
