Quiet Becoming | A

She started with water and acrylic inks on raw canvas — no gesso, no primer, no barrier between the paint and the fiber. Different rules. The ink didn't glide the way it does on a prepared surface. It sat. It sank. It took the canvas at its word.

The black dried darker than expected. Instead of fighting it, she responded — purple rising up underneath to hold it, yellow arriving in the corner like first light deciding to witness. A white shape emerged through the center, not quite figure, not quite landscape. Something rising. Something learning.

The raw canvas shows through everywhere it wants to. That's part of the composition. The unfinished is the point.

Quiet Becoming is for the woman who is changing without announcing it. Who doesn't need anyone to notice the work yet — she's still learning what it's asking of her. The yellow is patient. The white is emerging. The becoming is quiet, but it's happening.

Some transformations don't arrive with a sound.
